Live Rocket Launch Today!

The private spaceflight company SpaceX is the first EVER to build and launch its own rockets and space capsules to the International Space Station and RETURN them to Earth. SpaceX's unmanned Dragon space capsules launch on the company's Falcon 9 rockets and first flew to the International Space Station in 2012. The Calif.-based company is planning to upgrade Dragon capsules to launch seven people into orbit in upcoming years, but there's more to SpaceX than meets the eye.
So, to answer many of your questions today, NO there were not people inside the rocket today. The problem they had was a minor computer issue. The solar panels would not open so the engine, which needs energy from the solar panels would not function/work either. All they had to do was tell the panels to open via computer on Earth and it began to function as planned. Dragon, will not attach to the ISS as planned however, just in case its engines fail again. After all, we have to protect the ISS because there ARE people on that not to mention years of innovation-still in progress. :-)
